We welcomed our second class of Grade 9's from Bayview today. They were pro's having attended the program last year and we hope to see some of them back for our after-school program!
We welcomed our first class of Grade 9's from Bayview on Monday, May 26. It was cold and a bit wet, but everyone had lots of fun!
Here are the photos from our second class of Grade 8's from Bayview Community School!
We had our second group of Grade 5's today (photos from May 21 will come shortly), and though the wind was light all morning, there was enough in the end to get some true sailing in.
We hope everyone had fun!
Today we welcomed our first class of the 2014 Sail All school sailing program!
While the weather didn't look like it was going to co-operate, the fog lifted and the rain held off, and the wind was perfect for learning.
This class was here last year, so were well-prepared for their day on the water. We hope everyone had fun! Check out the photos below!
Last week Breugh and Claire traveled to Bayview Community School, Bluenose Academy, and our newest participant in Sail All, New Ross Consolidated School, to introduce the students to sailing prior to their sailing day.
The presentations went well and we were excited by the enthusiasm of the students!
Photos of the New Ross presentations can be seen here, courtesy of New Ross teacher Peter Millett's blog!
Sail All 2014 is all ready, and we have lots of exciting news!
We are going to be offering some advanced programming, and this year have three schools participating and 20 classes!
The following programs will be offered for those who participate in the school sailing program this year, and their families, at no cost!
After-school sailing: Instructors and boats will be provided, and your son/daughter can come and continue to improve their skills following their day sailing with their class: Wednesdays, June 4, 11, 18, 3-5pm, LYC
Parent/child evening sailing: Parents, this is your opportunity to try sailing! Parents can sail on keelboats with senior members and your son/daughter can sail dinghies with instructors or join you: Wednesdays, June 11, 18, (23), 6-8pm, LYC (NOTE: these will be continued through July and August)
Summer evening sailing: Instructors will be providing lessons in dinghies for those students who wish to keep learning new skills: Tuesdays, July and August, 5-7pm, LYC
Summer Learn-to-Sail: Lunenburg Yacht Club is offering half off the regular price of their week-long sessions all summer for those that are first time sailors who participated in Sail All! Please see www.lyc.ca for more information, or email email@example.com with any questions.
For those who are financially constrained, KidSport offers up to $300/year/child for sport registration and/or equipment. If you feel this program does not fit your needs, but would still like your child to participate in a Learn-to-Sail program, or have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to hear about how we can help.
We hope everyone is as excited as we are!
As always, please don't hesitate to contact us with questions, or if you would like more information about how your school or yacht club can become involved!

We are extremely pleased to announce that Sail All has been awarded the Recreation Event of the Year award by Sail Canada!
Last year was a great team effort, and we're expanding the team and hoping to bring Sail All back better than ever in the coming season. Let us know if you'd like to join!

Hope winter is treating you well!
We at Sail All are busy planning for the upcoming season, and we wanted to put word out that we are looking for all volunteers that might be interested in helping out with the Sail All program. We will be running during May and June, as well as various times during the summer.
We are primarily looking for sailing instructors who would be interested in helping coach during the spring, but even if you aren't a sailing instructor, or even a sailor, let us know if you're interested! Last year we had support staff on shore, student sailing volunteers who weren't yet qualified as coaches but wanted some experience, and others helping us with the organizational aspects of Sail All.
If you're at all interested, please send us an email or message via Facebook!
